I bought a cactus last year and it was living happily here!
But some months ago something went wrong with the orange
head and unfortunately it got dried :(
But the body was ok and I was taking care of it.
.
.
It looks like this right now! With 3 roots on it and
I have no idea that what I should do about it!!!?
.
I fear it will become too heavy.
I don't know if I need to cut it off and plant it separately?
.
Thank you for reading my cactus story :)
I think it just made a baby and you could plant it! :D
ReplyDeletetake some skewers (long toothpick like sticks) and string and make a "ladder" for your catus to lean on. I have done that before and it works pretty well!
ReplyDeletelooks like you aren't the only one with this "problem".
ReplyDeletethe orange part is actually a different cactus grafted onto the green one - it can't survive on it's own (not enough chlorophyll) - so you won't ever grow another one. not too sure about the roots though...

This story made me smile. Hmm, I am not sure what to tell you, but I know that a lot of cacti will regenerate if you lob a piece off and stick it in the dirt, haha.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely story! I think you could just plant it. I hope your able to figure out something soon! Have a lovely merry happy day and love to yoU!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much dear friends for your comments! You helped me a lot! xo :)
ReplyDeleteOh, it has a form of a leaf (well, at least in 2D ;)) - so cute!! I have zero experience with cactus, so I'm glad, you already got help here :)
ReplyDelete:o Orchids do the same thing, in which case you'd just cut off the limb and replant it in another pot.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what kind of cactus it is? Some species have air roots that wicks moisture from the air.
