Zenaida Dove, these birds have a very beautiful voice.
They sing a nice and calming song in the morning.
We had the same birds back in Iran, but they sing a totally different song!
Isn't it interesting? We call them "Ghomri" in Persian.
The cutest thing ever! Baby sparrow! Little fluffy thing!
He's learning to fly these days, he's full of excitement to discover the world!
I took this photo 20 minutes ago (7 am)
I have no idea what this huge bird is?
Do you know its name?
It was flying very close so I could take a photo of it.
First I though I'm seeing a plane from far :))
How lovely...I enjoy waking up to the birds in the morning!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great Wednesday!
I didn't know much about birds, but your art and illustrations are making me take a closer look at the local birds here! :) I do love them sparrows, such cute little balls. :)
ReplyDeleteDear Afi, I like to watch doves, pigeons and sparrows hopping and wandering among people's feet...:) The flying bird resembles me of a hawk. Look here - http://www.sculptures-by-bjh.com/Hawks.htm. I understand your excitement - it's lovely that these birds had come so close to you!
ReplyDeleteThe big bird is a hawk, probably a red tailed hawk. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pictures! Thanks for sharing. I
ReplyDeletet's intresting that those birds in canada have another voice ... They really look like Ghomri!
Wonderful pics! Nice to have the company of these birds... I have a feeling you might make some little clay sparrows sometime soon! :)
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures and drawings. This page is like a calming oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life.
I agree with msventrue about the bird. It does look like a red tail, you can compare here:

Dearest sweet afi, these photos are gorgeous and i really adore that adorable little sparrow! Have a lovely merry happy week and love to you!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Linked to your blog from PolymerClayDaily. I'm a birder, so noticed the bird photos first. Your dove is a Mourning dove. Zenaida doves are accidental in the Florida Keys, so unless this is from your vacation home, that's definitely a Mourning dove. The name comes from their call...sort of a "kooWOOOooookoookooo. The sparrow is a House sparrow, and the hawks is most definitely a Red-tailed hawk.
ReplyDeleteaaaagh it looks like a hawk... which i love , they are so cool to see. But watch out little sparrow. I hope he doesn't fly too close to the nest....
ReplyDeleteNever tought you could se eagles flying Toronto's sky! And you are lucky to have your own dove waking you up in the morning with this "high in the sky" view! Greetings from Montreal, smaller city but fiewer birds :P
