A cactus story

Hi everyone! I don't know if you remember my cactus or not but
I bought a cactus last year and it was living happily here!
But some months ago something went wrong with the orange
head and unfortunately it got dried :(
But the body was ok and I was taking care of it.
.
After some time it started to grow from the side!
It looks like this right now! With 3 roots on it and
I have no idea that what I should do about it!!!?
.
I fear it will become too heavy.
I don't know if I need to cut it off and plant it separately?
.
Thank you for reading my cactus story :)

JooJoo.me = All About JooJoo!

Hi everyone!
Today I'm very excited to announce my new web address:
Sweet 'n Short!!!
I guess now it's much easier for everyone to visit my blog! :)

JooJoo means a birdie in Persian ,
especially it's used for little yellow chicks.
2 years ago I had gone to the beach with Suma and
he found this heart shaped stone there. He asked
me to paint myself on it, and I painted us instead!

I've used gouache and then sealed it after that.
I used this illustration for my wedding invitations too!
I made all of our wedding invitations myself!
Including favors and my cake topper!
I will blog about them soon!
.
Thank you for visiting,
It's always a pleasure having you here!

Illustration Friday: Hollow . My hollow heart grew whole

For this week of Illustration Friday I was inspired
by beautiful lyrics from a song called Ivory Rose:
The love I found in your sapphire eyes is nestled into my soul
In the kisses of your ruby mouth my hollow heart grew whole
And came to know the touch that sows desire, a flower of fire
that grows and burns my pride to cinders,
how I love you, Ivory rose.

Illustration Friday: Hierarchy . Colorful cactuses

Hierarchy of colors in a cactus.
I painted this illustration with watercolor on paper.
I was inspired by this beautiful photo of cactuses in Arizona
by Sparklerama.

Wish I could grow such a big cactus at home :)
My grandma had a huge cactus, 1.2 meters and she
had grown it herself, but I think it took something
around 30 years for her cactus to grow that big.

This is the sketch of my illustration.

And here is the painting in my hand!

Illustration Friday: Talisman

Watercolor, colored pencils and pen on green paper.

If you've ever been to Turkey, you must have seen many of
these blue eyes!
These are called "nazar" and are protection against the evil
eye. My bamboo queen is using one of those to rest in peace!
You can read about Nazar
here in Wikipedia.
I also have one little eye (Nazar) pendant!
I bought that in Iran when I was a teenager.
In Iran we use some special glazed pottery bead as talisman.
You can see it in the photo
(The big blue bead, hanging from that wall art)
This wall art is a gift from my lovely sister :)
Thank you Azadeh! I love it!
